Totally Tut Math Game

Tut math game Let's join the Ancient Egyptians for a totally different math operations game.

What's a math operations game? You have to use strategy to decide whether to add, subtract, multiply or divide to get to your target number. This game is more advanced than the other elementary math games listed on this page.

I'll be honest and tell you I originally ordered this game by mistake when I wrote the wrong number on an inventory slip. "Too much money for an addition game," I thought. Wrong. The more times I played it the more I realized the kids were learning order of operations, not just reviewing math facts.

Age: 8 to 12
Concepts: Order of operations

Consider using one of these ideas in your home:
  • Have a game day instead of regular math lesson every two weeks.
  • When students play a math game and win, let them take two problems off of their math less that day.
  • If they play a different math game every day for a week, they earn five bonus points on their next test.
