math
Objective: Reinforce simple addition and subtraction facts from 1 to 18

Ages: Approximately 6 to 8 years

Number of Players: 2 to 4

What you get: Moose Track Math Bingo Game comes in a multi-colored box approximately 8 X 9 inches:
  • Four bingo boards (different colors)
  • Two dice with numbers (The dice have digits such as "3" rather than typical dice dots.)
  • One die with addition signs (plus sign) and subtraction signs (minus sign.)
  • Markers
  • Directions

How To Play

The 1st game is called "The Moose Line-Up."
  • The first player rolls the dice, and mentally performs the addition or subtraction problem with the numbers rolled.
  • If the answer is on the players bingo board during their turn, they cover that answer with one of the markers.
  • The first person to get a three-in-a-row bingo wins the game.

There is an advanced game called "Moose On the Loose" which is more challenging.
  • The rules are basically the same as the easier game, except they have to be the first to fill all nine squares to win.
  • If a player rolls numbers that add up to 12, they have to remove ALL the markers on their board. (No Fair!)
  • If a player rolls numbers that add up to 11, the player to their left has to remove all of their markers. (Now that's getting rough!)

Variations
In our house, we like to play with each player getting two boards. At the end of the game, the kids like to exchange boards and play again.

Yes, the kids ASK to play it a second time.

Other Features

The back side of the cards feature different facts about moose. For instance, did you know that moose are the largest animals in the northern hemisphere?

Neither did I, until I played this game. Other fun facts are on the back of each card.

In short, Moose Track Math Bingo Game is a fun elementary math game to practice simple addition and subtraction with sums to 18. Kids enjoy it and ask to play it over and over. It is a nice, economical tool to add to your repertoire of math-enhancing activities.
