Titanic Survivor, WINNER

by Sarina Edwards, age 11
(North Carolina)

"What did he just say." I said to my buddy Horace Rodgers on this fateful day,April 15 1912.

"Is it really happening."

"I believe it is."

"The titanic will sink."

"We have to get to a lifeboat."

That is when we hear the man shouting women and children only. We start to run around the deck as fast as we can until we see a spare lifeboat for wealthy men.

"Well come on man we must hurry on the boat."

"Don`t you see, that boat is for wealthy men, only you can go not me."

"Well I will not leave without you. We have been chums since our first year of school and now that we are 34 that is not going to change anything."

" But you must go do not worry I will be fine."

"No you`re coming with me and that is final."

So then Horace sneaks me on and we think we`ll be fine until CRACK the ship starts breaking in half while we are being lowered down.

"We can make it ,just hold on tight." I yell as we drop 68 feet to the water and amazingly I was right until I see all the people in the water.

"We`re never gonna make it,"

"Yes we will, don`t give up hope now, we have already been through so much."

"You`re right , lets do it." and we paddle through all the people making it out unturned.

"Our lives are spared yet again, Horace."

"I know, isn`t it a miracle.

"Yes it is."

"OH NO!"

"What is it?"

"I forgot my wallet!"

"Horace, really you can buy another."

"But it was Italian leather."

"This is going to be a long trip."

AWESOME!!
by: Anonymous

That was great! I loved the ending the best. I really thought it would be sad, but then the ending was the total opposite of what I thought. You deserve to be the winner!

Good job!
by: Mrs. Jackie

Very good, Sarina! I really liked the way the ending was not at all what I expected. You keep writing and using your imagination and you will be pleased with where it will take you.
